Lara Plaisance has been practicing law in Iowa since 2010 and joined Hopkins & Huebner in 2017. A graduate of the University of Iowa and University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Lara now practices primarily in workers’ compensation defense.
Lara has extensive experience in representing insurance carriers and employers in workers’ compensation cases covering the entire state of Iowa. Lara has led on-site lunch and learns sessions, one-on-one training and breakout sessions at seminars for employers, risk managers and claims personnel.

Lara and her husband currently reside in Waukee, Iowa, with their sons Ben and Theo and dogs Charlie and Tessie.
In her free time, Lara enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, watching Hawkeye football and basketball, and Red Sox baseball.
Outside the office, Lara is on the Board of Directors for Eat Greater Des Moines and Drew’s Crew for Kids, where she also serves as President and co-founder. She is a member of Hunger Free Dallas County and the Kiwanis Club of Waukee.
