Racing and Gaming Attorney Lorraine May receives Founders Award at Women Leaders in Gaming Summit

About Lorraine May: Lorraine has been involved in Iowa’s Racing and Gaming industry since 1989. She was actively involved in creating the regulations of riverboat gaming since its inception in 1991 and was directly involved in writing the initial rules that govern riverboat gaming in Iowa. Lorraine served on the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission from 1989-1995 and was the first female chair during 1992-1994.Lorraine has practiced law in Iowa since 1976. She continues to represent a number of local businesses in their corporate and employment issues and is counsel for several national and international gaming companies.Lorraine grew up in the Sandhills of Western Nebraska and attended a small school with multi-class classrooms. In her free time, Lorraine enjoys travel, cooking, reading, gardening, playing piano, learning the cello and spending time with her family. Lorraine and her husband Tom have been married for over 45 years. Tom is a retired actuary, and they are the proud parents of three daughters.
